Have you ever thought of combining your love for video games with something that’s actually good for you? My daughter and I have found a way to do both with our Wii gaming system. Nintendo came out with a game called Wii Fit along with a Wii Balance Board on May 21, 2008 to make getting fit fun for you and the whole family.
You’re allowed to make up to eight personal profiles for you, your family, and your friends; and it allows you to use your very own Mii character as your character for your Wii fit profile. Once you’ve created your Wii fit profile it allows you to set goals, keep track of your progress, and challenge your family and friends.
The significance of the Wii Balance Board is that it allows you to weigh yourself, and keep track of this on your profile, as well as keeping track of your BMI. The Wii fit game uses these two numbers as well as two separate fitness tests that are selected for you by your balance board to give you your Wii Fit Age. This helps you keep track of how you’re doing physically as well as giving you something to work towards.
Another neat aspect of this game is it also allows you to keep track of other activities you’re doing to get physically fit besides just the Wii Fit activities. As you can see, we not only enjoy playing online video games, but we also love playing games on our Wii as well. I just love the interactive nature of this gaming system.
Until next time: Happy Gaming!!
